Book Week is always one of the highlights on the school calendar and this year certainly did not disappoint. It was a pleasure to be a part of my first Port PS Book Week Parade and I could not have been more impressed by the wonderful Junior School Council Representatives from across all learning communities leading the event. It is a great celebration of all things reading and an opportunity to highlight the wonder of books.

We know that the amazing costumes the students wear don’t happen by accident, and I would like to thank and acknowledge the parent community for your efforts and support of this event. One of the students mentioned she was working on her costume “past her bedtime” and “woke up very early” to finish it off in preparation for the big day. It certainly was worth the effort when you see the excitement and joy on the students and staff’s faces on the day.
