School Council


The Portarlington Primary School - School Council meets to discuss a range of issues pertaining to school governance.  The School Council’s objectives, set out in the Education and Training Reform Act 2006, are to:

  • Assist in the effective governance of the school
  • Ensure that its decisions affecting students of the school are made having regard, as a primary consideration, to the best interests of the students 
  • Enhance the educational opportunities of the students of the school
  • Ensure the school and the council comply with requirements of this act, the regulations, a Ministerial Order or a direction, guidance or policy issued under this Act.

 

Our School Council meets twice per term, with meetings generally open to all members of the school community.  If you would like to find out more about being involved in the School Council, please contact one of our School Council members below.
